Automotive Collision Repair

1-year program

Students learn to repair and/or restore automobiles and truck bodies; weld broken frame parts, replace damaged or missing vehicle body parts; estimate the cost of repairs; prep and paint repaired vehicle body surfaces.

Credential: ASE Industry Certification

Automotive Services Technician

2-year program

With an emphasis on professional service and diagnostic procedures, students will learn the operation of automotive systems and will perform skill exercises in: (1) Engine Performance, (2) Brakes (3) Steering and Suspension (4) Electrical/Electronic System relative to automotive services. The Automotive Services Technician Program develops technical skills necessary to maintain one’s personal automobile and seek professional mechanic certification.

School of Cosmetology

Cosmetology is an occupational licensed program that will offer 2 courses:

Manicuring License - 1 year program

Natural Hair Cultivation - 1 year program

11th and 12th grade Cosmetology students are provided the opportunity to complete 600 clock hours (nails) or 400 clock hours (hair) per year towards their license. Both programs include service learning hours of instruction in Cosmetology Laws and Rules, Safety, Sanitation, Professional Image, Career Assessment, Manicure and Hairstyling. Through a performance-based curriculum, students are taught the duties and tasks expected of incumbent workers in industry. The curriculum and instructional materials are in alignment with the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulation-Board of Cosmetology, the Office of College and Career Readiness, Michigan Department of Education, Career-Technical Cluster Program Outcomes, and the Michigan Model Core Curriculum Outcomes for Career and Employability Skills.

Credentials: Manicuring License, Natural Hair Cultivation License, OSHA10 General Industry

Graphics & Printing Technology

  • 1-year program

    Let Your Creative Expression Soar!

    • Learn the field of graphic design and communication, digital print, photography, and software imaging, and the use of specialized printing equipment

    • Students learn and use Adobe (including Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva/ Microsoft Office software applications using Apple/ Windows Computers

    • In this fun and interactive class, students will collaborate on projects and with customers, practicing work-based learning skills

    • Students will screen-print t-shirts, design layouts, signage, logos, and other marketing materials from industry standards and effective design techniques

    Industry-based training: Will include operating Color and Black and White Copiers, Large Format Printer Dye-Sublimation, Heat-Transfer equipment, Paper Bindery, Folding and using Wide Format Printing/ Vinyl Application Apparel Screen Printing/ Embroidery.

Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Services

1-year program

(Hospitality and Food Services; Travel & Tourism; Baking and Pastry; Meat Cutting) Students learn basic and advanced principles of food preparation and services practiced in the hospitality industry. Students perform job-related tasks found in typical commercial dining establishments; dining room services; pantry shops (cold foods); and restaurant-style food preparations, as well as the art of preparing food, proportionally suited to serve quantities specific to special occasions, catering, and gourmet services are taught.

Students also receive instruction in computer applications related to the food industry. Students learn skills for exciting career opportunities within the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, including airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, wholesalers, charter operations, hotel representatives, car rental agencies, tourist offices, as well as meeting, event, and convention planning companies and travel agencies.

Students learn practical baking operations associated with the preparation of breads, cakes, pies, pastries, and other bakery products for retail distribution, for consumption in a commercial food service establishment, or for special functions. Instruction includes making, freezing, and handling of baked products, decorating, counter display, and packaging of merchandise.

Students learn to process, package, display, and sell retail and restaurant cuts of meat. Students are taught the art of Customer Service through the operations and management of the various shops which comprise our Culinary Department. Students also learn marketing and entrepreneurial skills as they serve the public.

Mechatronics Program/Multi-Skilled Manufacturing Maintenance

2-year program

Students will learn the components of Mechatronics. The two main components of Mechatronics are mechanical systems and electrical systems. There are 12 segments which include CAD, Fluid Power, Robotics, and basic machining and CNC Programming. Students are equipped with skills based in STEM concepts that are necessary to support engineering design and development work, by preparing detail drawings with exact dimensions and specifications for production purposes. Students acquire proficiency in the fundamentals of drafting and utilization of the computer (CAD system) to apply learned knowledge and skills of design, mechanical operations, geometric dimensioning and tolerances, strength of materials, solid modeling and 3D visualization to comprehensive design-based projects in a practical hands-on learning environment.

Welding and Cutting

1-year program

Students learn major welding and cutting processes, those utilized in industrial welding industries, such as oxy-acetylene welding and brazing, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and tungsten arc welding. The students design, lay out, cut and fabricate metals in the production of various projects such as free standing basketball reams, decorative yard furniture, fencing, and barbecue pits. Students are privy to National Welding Certifications, as well.
